Help out at Ichiban!

So you want to staff or volunteer at Ichiban? Great! By helping at Ichiban for a few short hours during the weekend you’ll be eligible for some amazing perks: from reimbursing your admission all the way to being able to stay on site and eat for free! Staff and volunteers make this convention happen and we need your help to pull off a great event each year.

Staff vs. volunteers:

Staffing

Staffing requires more working hours but gets you more perks. Most new staff will start in the General Staffing department badge checking or 18+ ID checking, however individuals with applicable experience and history may get the chance to work with other teams such as Guest Relations, Safety, Staff Suite, Tech, and many more!

For general staff there is a minimum of 20 hours of work over the course of the convention to keep staffing status. In return for your work you will be rewarded with free housing, free food, free admission to the convention, and other cool staff only benefits! (Note: Other departments may require more hours and additional requirements in order to keep staffing status.) 

Volunteering

In order to be a volunteer, you must pay for admission to attend the convention. This can be either through pre-pay online or through pay at the door. Volunteers will need to work a minimum of 12 hours over the entire event in order to have full weekend reimbursement. Like new staff volunteers will most likely help with the general staffing team, however those with applicable experience and history may get to help with other departments. (Area and type of work is subject to necessity and availability and placement is ultimately determined by the convention.)

Once you determine whether you’d like to staff or volunteer you will then need to fill out the staffing/volunteer application located here so we can have important information on file for you. Depending on where you’d like to work a convention representative will reach out about your submission status several weeks before the con should your application be approved and go over any additional details you may need to perform your duties.
